The Trade Fairs & Congress Centre of Málaga, designed by the architect Angel Asensio, opened its doors in 2003 having become the heart of the economy and business activity in Malaga. Its contemporary building set up resembles the Mediterranean Sea, to which the city owns its development and growth.
The roof cover design emulates a wavy aluminium sea through which an enormous titanium fish swim. This representation serves as a symbol that put together the maritime tradition of the city and the modern, progressist and dynamic image that the 21st century Malaga represents nowadays. Its functional and avant-garde design in conjunction with its technological improvements make the Trade Fairs & Congress Centre of Málaga a benchmark in Business centres models both nationally and internationally.
The 60,000 sqm building has 17,000 sqm of exhibition spaces distributed in two exhibition pavilions, two 600 people capacity and 910 delegates auditoriums, two 500 people capacity convertible rooms and six 70 people capacity meeting rooms. Additionally, it has a 1,500 people capacity restaurant and other F&B areas and a parking lot for 1,200 vehicles.
